In 1903, John Teagle, a summer resident of Parker Point, bought a sizable chunk of land for the purpose from Alfred C. Osgood and by 1904 it was golfable. Teagle certainly did not get it just for himself. There are no records, but it seems certain that a group of other cottagers were part of the plan but hadn’t gotten organized—or if they had, the records are lost....

Lifelong player, teacher and fan of golf. Elected Class “A” PGA member in 1996, So Cal PGA Section. Experience at Big Canyon CC, Newport Beach and La Cumbre CC, Santa Barbara. Served as Head Professional at Hidden Oaks GC, Santa Barbara.
Currently teaches golf at UC Santa Barbara, and coaches boys varsity golf at Dos Pueblos HS, Goleta.
Longtime involvement with junior golf: Started and instructed Hidden Oaks Junior Golf Camp for 12 years. Also traveled to Bosnia to teach a junior golf program in Sarajevo in 2003.
Passionate about helping players of all ages and ability improve their skills and enjoyment of game. Specializes in keeping things simple, repeatable and fun.
Enjoys golf traveling and spectating. Combined both on month long trip to Scotland, 2018. Played numerous historic courses, and attended the Scottish, British and British Senior Opens.
Drew is starting his 17th season as the Head Tennis Pro here at the Blue Hill Country Club. He is an Elite Professional certified by USPTA. Drew began teaching tennis while he was a college player in Kansas in the late 80’s.
After moving to Maine in 1991, he continued instruction for 12 years at the Ellsworth Tennis Center. He has instructed students from age 4 to 90, at levels of beginner to collegiate athletes. When not on the tennis court in Blue Hill, Drew teaches math and coaches both the boys and girls tennis teams at Old Town High School.
